Vice Chairman at Kia Resigns Following Recalls

NY Times -- The vice chairman of the Kia Motors Corporation, Chung Sung-eun, stepped down on Sept. 3 after recalls involving scores of vehicles worldwide for electrical problems.

President Lee Hyoung-keun will replace him, a Kia spokesman, Michael Choo, said Tuesday.

“The resignation came on the heels of recently announced recalls,” Mr. Choo said.

In light of the Toyota Motor Corporation’s prominent quality problems in the last year involving 10 million vehicles, Kia has acted properly and expeditiously, said George Magliano, director of automotive research at IHS Global Insight...

Maybe this Hyundai, Kia company is really run by some good people.
When hit with a problem they chop the head off, instead of the working class.

Why resign over 100,000 cars? If Toyota did that there would be no management left!

I find it interesting how a recall of just over 100,000 cars would cause the resignation of the vice chairman. Hell, a recall of only 100,000 cars in todays day and age is nothing. A Nissan, Toyota, Ford, GM, Chrysler vice chairman would think that was a good day.

'Recall fatigue'. Not getting a lot of attention since the Press jumped all over Toyota.
